Blue (Da Ba Dee) & Healthy Eating Habits

What I Wore:

In keeping with the monochromatic theme for the week, I wore all blue. Maybe a little obvious again since jeans are blue–but sometimes obvious and simple is alright. One great thing about doing monochromatic for a week is that it makes one long silhouette and so I felt pretty tall and thin all day which can’t be a bad thing! Also, wearing all blue kept me repeating Blue (Da Ba Dee) in my head ALL.DAY.LONG! I’m sure you know this song and I’m sure you’re probably not a big fan of Eiffel 65 (a band name I didn’t know until I just looked up that video) so hopefully you can sympathize with my all day song torture. Please accept my apologies for causing you to have this song stuck in your head all day too -OR- you’re welcome, if you’re an Eiffel 65 groupie.

What I Ate:

Perfect Brownies (via Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook from the 1940s or 1950s)

Ingredients

2 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate

1/2 cup butter or margarine

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour

Optional 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Melt chocolate over hot water. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Blend in melted chocolate, vanilla, and flour. Mix nuts into batter or sprinkle them over the top after batter is poured into the pan. Pour the batter into greased 8x8x2 in pan. Bake in slow oven (325 degrees) for 35 minutes.

These are SO delicious and fudgey. I prefer a fudgey brownie to a cakey, spongey brownie and these fit the bill!

Also, I might have eaten this for supper tonight…
